New brewers join the team at Glen Spean Brewery

The Glen Spean Brewing Co has enjoyed a couple of years of considerable growth by encouraging West Highland hospitality businesses to sell high-quality, local beer. The sector increasingly appreciates that visitors want to explore local offerings, and traditional structural barriers around central beer supply contracts are gradually being bypassed. This shifts the focus toward giving consumers what they actually want, rather than what a tied brewery wishes to sell.

In order to satisfy this increasing demand, the Glen Spean Brewing Co has expanded its team’s expertise by bringing in a highly experienced head brewer and a new brewing assistant.

New Team Appointments

  • Gordon White (Head Brewer): A Heriot-Watt University qualified brewer, Gordon learned his trade brewing in his native Dundee, Fife, and the celebrated Broughton breweries in the Borders. He has spent the last several years managing breweries in Bali and Hong Kong. Gordon is enjoying the unique challenges of the brewery and is looking forward to developing four new beers for this winter’s sales.

  • Aaron Brennan (Brewing Assistant): Aaron spent several seasons working in a restaurant in Glen Nevis and has swapped the surf of his native Gran Canaria for the skill and fun of crafting beer in Spean Bridge.

They join the redoubtable Jim Steer, Joe, Lucy, and Peeps in getting great local beer to the people of Lochaber. Slàinte!
