Help Make the Fort William STEM Centre a Reality
The West Highland Chamber Manifesto identifies the Fort William STEM Centre as a critical priority for our region – and now is the time to turn that long-standing ambition into reality.
The West Highlands is experiencing unprecedented economic opportunity, with major investment in energy, infrastructure, construction, manufacturing, aquaculture and other growth sectors. But our ability to capitalise on this investment is being held back by skills shortages and a historic lack of local STEM training infrastructure. Too many apprentices and young people still have to leave the region to access the technical education they need.
The Chamber, working with UHI North, West and Hebrides, is therefore launching a campaign to demonstrate the strength of business support for the STEM Centre.
After more than a decade of developing the case, this is our opportunity to move from ambition to delivery.
We’re asking West Highland businesses to add their name to our Business Statement of Support and help make the strongest possible case for investment.
